Hey looking good. I never realized Eiji was that gigantic. Heck he's bigger than buildings. 
The title is great too. Was it you who came up with it, or the publishers?
I'm just curious, why does Ultraman get top billing over Godzilla? Not just him getting the cover, but even the sub-title of the book? Defending the Earth from Ultraman, Godzilla. I've always figured Godzilla to be far more reconizable and popular than Ultraman.

The first cover I saw was a behind-the-scenes still from GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN, so I was surprised to see this when I was sent a proof two months ago, but it's not so strange... That was a decision made by Chronicle Books and Tsuburaya Productions -- I think it looks great.
Firstly, Eiji Tsuburaya's company is Tsuburaya Productions, who created ULTRAMAN.
Secondly, the book was commissioned by Tsuburaya Productions, who were able to get Toho to cooperate with the use of stills through the auspices of the "Eiji Project," formed in 2001 (the 100th Anniversary of his birth), of which Toho is a partner, to do joint promotional works (CDs, DVDs, Books, etc.).
Thirdly, since the Chronicle approached Tsuburaya Productions to do this book, and Tsuburaya Productions recommended me to write the book (pending Chronicle's approval after I submitted a 30-page sample)... you can see where this is going, can't you? 
Anyhow, there is plenty of coverage of Tsuburaya's years at Toho -- this is a linear life and career biography, after all -- including lots of eye-popping behind-the-scenes photos (even a photo of the Odako from KING KONG VS. GODZILLA).
Still, this is the first book published outside of Japan with the full cooperation, consent and approval of Toho, Tsuburaya Productions and the Tsuburaya Family -- and the first of its kind ever in English! 
Just wait until you see the book... 
BTW, the title was my suggestion, but I first saw the title in an issue of Greg Shoemaker's "Japanese Fantasy Film Journal."

There are plenty of behind-the-scenes books with Godzilla on the cover. Frankly, I find it refreshing to see an Ultraman cover.
EDIT: I've decided to make this thread "sticky" to help promote August's book.

Is that the one where Eiji has his hand on Godzilla's back giving him instructions with Osaka Castle looming in the background?

Monumental would be a great word to describe this project. I have a book on Willis O'Brien (Willis O'Brien:Special Effects Genius) and Ray Harryhausen (Ray Harryhausen: An Animated Life), its about friggin time a book on Eiji Tsuburaya is coming out. Now I'll have books based on all three of my heroes who dazzled my childhood with Giant Monsters.

Its a great title. Master of Monsters. I can't think of a better title to use. The only one that could surpass it would be....Eiji Tsuburaya:Creator of THE ODAKO and some monster named Godzilla and some hero named Ultraman.

We have to really thank Chronicle Books who pursued the project in the first place, after publishing "So Cool Japanese Toys" -- and they kept the project alive for more than three years while the plans were drawn and rights were cleared. Now, we have an officially authorized book on the topic.

Extensive data on how the show was developed and produced, never before detailed in English! (Plus, never-before-published details on the making of GODZILLA!)

Or the Classic Media Edition: Eji Tsuburaya, Mater of Monster ?
