Post subject: Iron King == One Hell of a show!
|
|
|
I'm starting a new thread as the last one was more about the coming soon and what not.
As of today I have the set and have watched a total of two episodes and plan on watching some more tomorrow.
The first thing that struck me about Iron King was the packaging. After seeing the initial cover art I was a bit hesitant thinking it might be another Ultraman Tiga like set and instead what we get is a rather attractive little thinpak set much like BCI's Ultraman releases.
The show itself is a lot of fun. I know that some people take these shows seriously but quite frankly I find myself cracking up at how silly they are at times. Nonetheless the show is fairly well done and it keeps my interest and would, even without the giant robot stuff.
By the way, August, the dam scene in episode one looked like stock footage. Any idea what it was from (or is that shot just in worse shape than the rest of the show?)
I'm strangely more interested in watching more Iron King than I am at going and finishing Ultraman Box 2. I wonder if that means anything ... :P |

Glad you are enjoying IRON KING. If you read my liner note booklet, you'll see that tokusatsu shows in general were made for grammar school aged children, but they weren't written down, but the writers, directors and actors had fun with them -- made them entertaining for everyone.
IRON KING isn't supposed to be a "serious" show, and it doesn't take itself seriously, either -- just wait until you see what develops in the upcoming episodes.
As for the dam scene -- please tell me how far into the episode it is, and I'll check for it. _________________ August Ragone

Actually my boss doesn't have pointy hair but everything else is true.
Strange, I must've been on something since even in my explanation post I couldn't type for heck. |

I just got my copy of it today, for a steal off eBay, and am enjoying it so far. Although, it would be nice to find out why it took the Shiranui 2000 years to put their plan in place. :)
(Apologies for the thread necromancy.) |
