Has the retardation prevelent in Hollywood filmmakers finally seeped across the pond and over to Japan?
Shochiku is releasing a "new" "Zatoichi" film. Except... it's not fuckin' Zatoichi! It's a woman character called "Ichi", the name of the new film.

This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a while. Look, if you want to make a movie about a blind expert swordswoman, by all means do it... But don't call her Zatoichi because it's not Zatoichi! Hell, you can even call her just "Ichi", but if it's not male, it's not Zatoichi!
God, Beat Takashi's horrid revamping seems better. I just don't know what the hell people can be thinking doing this sort of thing.
